Overview
MarketHire is seeking a UX/UI Design Evaluator for a 12-week remote contract engagement to assess AI-generated product design work, including user flows, wireframes, interfaces, component specifications, and design rationale. The role requires 2–3 years of professional UX, UI, or product design experience, strong Figma proficiency, excellent written English, accessibility knowledge, and the ability to identify usability issues and provide clear, structured design feedback.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated designs, including user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity screens, component specifications, and design rationale.
- Assess design work against quality rubrics for usability, craft, clarity, and effectiveness in solving the stated user problem.
- Identify usability problems, broken or missing empty, loading, and error states, unclear hierarchy, inconsistent components, and accessibility failures.
- Review whether polished-looking screens provide clear, usable experiences for their intended users.
- Write clear, structured feedback and justifications for every evaluation score.
- Apply interaction patterns, information architecture, typography, visual hierarchy, and accessibility considerations when reviewing designs.
- Help refine grading criteria and iterate on evaluation practices based on feedback from senior reviewers.
- Follow complex instructions, reason through ambiguity, and clearly separate known information from inferences.
- Complete a 10-minute online assessment focused on design judgment and evaluation skills as part of the application process.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of professional experience in UX, UI, or product design, including shipping work used by real users.
- A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking rather than visual output alone.
- High proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, and prototyping.
- Strong command of interaction patterns, information architecture, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG contrast and touch-target requirements.
- Excellent written English and the ability to articulate design judgments in writing.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, reason through ambiguity, and identify usability failures in polished screens.
- Ability to clearly separate what you know from what you are inferring.
- Ability to work independently, learn new tools quickly, and take feedback well.
- Based in and working from the US, Canada, or UK.
- Availability for 30–40+ hours per week throughout the full 12-week engagement.
- A portfolio link is required with the application.
